From July 16-20, an activity entitled "Visiting China with young culture messengers" was held by the China International Culture Association in East China's Fujian province. During the event, a delegation composed of 72 teachers and students from the art troupe of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China visited the Yongding district of Longyan city in Fujian province to carry out a series of activities including artistic exchange, performances, and culture experience.
Wonderful performances for the public
The art troupe of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China has been appointed many times by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Chinese Language Council International to participate in the "Sino-French Culture Year", "Sino-Russian Culture Year", "Happy Chinese New Year" events, and other exchange performances in foreign counties including the United States, France, and Austria.
On the night of July 18, the art troupe staged a performance in the Yongding district. With the opening dance, performers brought local audiences a cultural feast including martial art, dance, and a string quartet. Art troupes from local high schools also performed dances, Hakka folk songs, and aerobics.
More than a thousand local audiences watched the live performance and over 60,000 online audiences enjoyed the show through live streaming with more than 120,000 favorable reviews received.
China's story from young people's perspective
This activity builds up friendship between younger generations. In the morning of July 19, the art troupe visited Yongding No.1 Middle School of Fujian for cultural communication. Both sides prepared gifts in advance and made friends during the ice-breaking interactive games. After the games, the art troupe also performed three shows for the senior year students during the break. The wonderful performances attracted more than 1,000 students from the teaching building and won bursts of applause.
Before going back to Beijing on the morning of July 20, they also visited the Piano Museum in Gulangyu Island in Xiamen.
Colorful experience
Young culture messengers also paid a visit to the unique traditional buildings of Hakka, Chinese tribesmen in Fujian province, and experienced a series of interesting folk activities. When enjoying the intangible cultural heritage performances, young culture messengers also publicize the culture and tourism of this place in various ways, showing the spirit of Chinese teenagers.
"Visiting China with young culture messengers" introduces the Fujian province and tells China's stories to foreign audiences via an online documentary. In the future, an increasing number of messengers will share more about China with young overseas teenagers in various forms.
