Hong Kong director Derek Hui, a judge at the Short Film Unit of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival, expressed his joy over exchanging ideas with filmmakers in an interview with chinadaily.com.cn.
As artificial intelligence increasingly affects the film industry, Derek Hui revealed the use of AI assistance in his latest works.
Despite AI's replacement in repetitive tasks, Derek Hui believed this frees filmmakers up to focus on creation. "During our creation process, we as humans should always be ahead of AI," he said.
