China International Culture Association unveils the secrets of Bama Yao autonomous county, commonly known as "longevity village", in a recently released video promoting local culture and tourism.
Bama Yao autonomous county is located in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, covers an area of 1,971 square kilometers and the home to 12 ethnic groups, including the Yao, Zhuang and Han. According to data from the second to fifth national censuses, Bama is ranked first in terms of its high proportion of centenarians.
The mountainous Bama boasts fresh air, abundant sunlight and pristine water, which contribute to this phenomenon. Every year more than 100,000 visitors come to experience its healthy lifestyle, with local people calling them "migratory birds". The appeal of longevity brings people together, both outside and inside the county.
