Designer stamps
Over the past seven decades, more than 500 designers and artists have illustrated the grand natural wonders and rich culture of China on stamp designs. To consolidate these stamps in one place, China Philately opened a specially themed post office at its office building in Beijing on April 5. The first designer exhibition will also be held there to celebrate its opening by displaying the works of Shao Bolin, who created and collaborated with artists to produce many iconic postage stamps during his career spanning several decades at China Philately. Highlights of the exhibition, which will be held till May 12, include the Golden Monkey Stamp which Shao created together with prominent artist Huang Yongyu for issuance in 1980 for the Year of the Monkey.
